Privacy Policy

01 Overview

Loci is a personal memory assistant. You forward messages to it — over WhatsApp or SMS — and it remembers what you've told it so you can ask about it later. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Loci, how we use it, and the choices you have.

02 Information we collect

When you message Loci, we collect:

• Your phone number, as the sender of the message.
• The content of your messages — text, and any photos, voice notes, or other files you send.
• Timestamps for when messages are sent and received.

We only collect what you actively send to Loci. We do not access your contacts, your other messages, or anything else on your device.

03 How we use it

We use what you send to:

• Build and maintain a personal memory profile — facts, plans, and context you've shared — so Loci can answer questions about them later.
• Generate replies to your messages, including deciding whether a message is something worth remembering or just a question.
• Improve the reliability and quality of the service.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.

04 How we store it

Your information is stored in a private, access-controlled database that is not publicly accessible. As Loci grows from an early-stage service into a broader product, we are continuing to invest in the technical safeguards protecting your data.

05 Sharing with service providers

To operate Loci, your messages pass through a small number of service providers acting on our behalf:

• Twilio — delivers messages between you and Loci over WhatsApp and SMS.
• Anthropic — processes message content to understand and respond to what you send.

These providers handle your information under their own privacy and security commitments, and only as necessary to provide the service to you. We do not share your information with any other third party, and we never sell it.

No mobile information — including your phone number and your consent to receive messages — will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This applies regardless of what else this policy says about service providers above: text-messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from any sharing, full stop.

06 Text messaging (SMS) consent

Loci has one opt-in method: you message our WhatsApp or SMS number first. There is no separate signup form or checkbox — sending us a message is how you give consent to receive replies back from us on that same number.

Message frequency depends entirely on how often you message us — we only reply when you write to us, never on our own schedule. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Reply STOP at any time to a text from Loci to opt out of SMS messages; reply HELP for help. See Your choices below for how to opt out entirely or request deletion.

07 Retention and deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, so Loci can continue to answer questions about things you've shared in the past. If you'd like your data deleted, contact us (see below) and we will remove it.

08 Your choices

You can ask us, at any time, to:

• Tell you what information we have about you.
• Correct information that's inaccurate.
• Delete your information entirely.

You can also stop using Loci at any time by simply no longer messaging it, or by replying STOP to opt out of SMS messages.

09 Children's privacy

Loci is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10 Changes to this policy

As Loci develops, this policy may be updated. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
